ABC Legal has a fee structure that differentiates between the various types of services on offer to different kinds of businesses. The fee models may be based on an hourly rate model, on a 'retainer', on interim management services, and/or upon a "legal & business" model.
The hourly rate model
The applicable hourly rate will be firmly agreed upon with the client at the outset. The rate charged will depend on several factors such as the type of instructions and the client, the urgency, the specialist character and/or the importance of the case. Where possible ABC Legal shall give a price quote or estimate in advance.
Special rates are applicable for so-called start-ups and the self-employed. Don't hesitate to contact us - you will be pleasantly surprised at the terms we offer.
The retainer-based model
ABC Legal can upon request provide services on a 'retainer' basis. The service offered will depend on an evaluation of the client's needs to enable us to provide the client with a 'retainer' service tailor-made to suit his/her requirements. One of the features of our retainer service is the possibility to purchase services from ABC Legal for a minimum number of hours during a specific period of time at a fixed (reduced) rate. An hourly rate is agreed upon with the client subject to the number of hours purchased.
The Interim Services-based model
Interim management services are primarily provided in areas of legal & business consultancy and strategic consultancy.
A fixed daily management fee is applicable (based on an 8-hour working day including a half hour break). The rate charged is to be agreed between the client and ABC Legal and shall depend on the size of the project and the instructions given. Overtime and additional work with respect to the same interim assignment will be charge separately at the same rate agreed above.
An interim assignment in connection with a project will be calculated on a scale based on a minimum number of days a week during a specific period of time to be agreed between the client and ABC Legal. The lawyers and associates at ABC Legal are available upon request for one or more days a week.
"Legal & business–based' model
Many larger clients make a conscious decision not to employ an in-house legal adviser. They work with ABC Legal as if it were their own 'external' legal department. We have an arrangement with those clients whereby we have agreed a normal hourly rate for handling law case files, but for all the usual corporate legal work the hourly rate is substantially lower. This way ABC Legal can accommodate clients wishing to outsource most of their corporate legal work and keep cost levels down, while ensuring that the work needed is performed by first-rate lawyers.
All rates are excluding BTW (VAT), and 6% office expenses as well as excluding (court) fees and any other costs/disbursements, when applicable. Travelling expenses are either calculated at the rate charged for 2nd class public transport or a kilometer charge will be made at € 0.35 cent per kilometer, to be decided at the discretion of ABC Legal.
All services provided by ABC Legal are furthermore subject to its The General Terms & Conditions of Business, which can be viewed on this website under the heading 'General Terms & Conditions' or which – at your request – will be sent to you by post or by e-mail.
